In Airline Tycoon 2, there is an aircraft designer agency (also known as "Ultimate Color Design"), responsible for retrofitting the interiors and exteriors of aircraft. It can be found on the upper or employee-only level of the airport terminal between the Advertising Agency and the Personnel Office. Its shortcut key is: Q.

Before you can design the interiors and exteriors of aircraft, you must first purchase at least one aircraft from Hangar 51 or the Scrap Yard. Then, go to the Designer Agency and speak to the man in the business suit and tie.

Aircraft ExteriorsEdit

To repaint the exterior of the plane, tell the designer: "I'd like to give my machines a new coat of paint." Select the plane you would like to repaint from the list on the left and click on the rotating model of the plane to begin repainting. Here, you will have the option of various Paint Finishes and Logos. Along the bottom of the "Logos" dialog box, there are two buttons that provide the options of working on individual parts of the plane or the entire plane. Below that are additional options of customizing the color scheme by adjusting the red, green and blue hues - but this feature is only available if you repaint all parts together (as opposed to different parts separately).

Aircraft InteriorsEdit

To retrofit the interior of a plane, tell the designer: "I'd like to see the interior of my cabins." Speak to the interior designer there to redesign the cabin configuration of a plane or the colors and logos in the cabin of a plane.

Cabin ConfigurationEdit

On the Cabin Configuration screen, you will be able to redesign cabin components and extras. The table below shows the different cabin configurations, their costs, and their ratings. Higher ratings equate to higher quality, which will lead to greater customer satisfaction but also greater costs.

You also have the option of repainting and redesigning the interior colour scheme and logos of the aircraft the same way you would with the exterior of the aircraft except that there are fewer paint finishes available for aircraft interiors.
